Satellite Communication plays a vital role in today’s interconnected world. It extends Global Connectivity by providing communication infrastructure to remote and underserved regions, and the non-terrestrial regions, as well, bridging the digital divide. They enable access to critical services, including telephony, broadband internet, and broadcasting. Further, it also plays crucial role in societal applications like Disaster Management and Scientific Research and Exploration. In brief, satellites communications are the backbone of international connectivity, enabling diverse services and contributing to a more connected and resilient world.
On completing this course successfully, the participants will have a comprehensive knowledge of the satcom technology, including its space and ground segment architecture, signal structure, services and applications. The participants will be able to appreciate the SatCom design aspects in conjunction with the system engineering, including the signal links. They will also be able to carry out simple digital signal processing and data processing jobs pertinent to the satellite communication.
